Yuflyma - 80mg/0.8ml

notice

SKU: GP-21 Category:

Description

Yuflyma (adalimumab-aaty) reduces pain, inflammation, and skin symptoms associated with autoimmune conditions by inhibiting TNF alpha. A variety of diseases and conditions are treated with Yuflyma, including rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis, and hidradenitis suppurativa.

The immune system is responsible for fighting bacteria and viruses that cause diseases. An autoimmune disorder, however, is caused by an overactive immune system attacking itself, causing symptoms.

Inflammation is caused by tumor necrosis factor (TNF). The TNF blocker Yuflyma reduces pain, inflammation, and skin symptoms by inhibiting TNF. This is a biosimilar to Humira. Biosimilars are biological medicines that have a high degree of similarity to the original product. Biosimilars cannot be interchanged. An autoinjector or prefilled syringe can be used to administer Yuflyma, which is available as a high-concentration, citrate-free formulation.

Adalimumab can also be found in Amgevita, Idacio, Hulio and Hadlima.

Warnings & Precautions

Your immune system is affected by Yuflyma. Infections may be more likely to occur, even serious or fatal ones.

In case of fever, chills, aches, tiredness, cough, sores, diarrhea, or burning when you urinate, tell your doctor before or during treatment with Yuflyma.

Before starting Yuflyma, you should be tested for tuberculosis (TB), and your doctor should closely monitor you during treatment for signs and symptoms of TB.

TNF-blockers may increase the risk of developing cancer in children and adults.

In case of fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, tiredness, cough, bloody mucus, skin sores, diarrhea, or constantly tired, tell your doctor before using Yuflyma.

Please let your doctor know where you live and if you have traveled recently or will travel shortly. Some areas of the world are prone to infections.

In rare cases, Yuflyma can cause liver, spleen, and bone marrow lymphomas (cancers). Mostly, young men and teenagers with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis are affected. Lymphoma may be more prevalent in people with inflammatory autoimmune disorders. It would help if you discussed your own risk with your doctor.

FDA-approved conditions are the only ones for which Yuflyma should be used in specific age groups. Before starting Yuflyma treatment, children should be up-to-date on all childhood immunizations.

You should tell your doctor if you have ever experienced any of the following:

  • You have tuberculosis (or anyone in your household has tuberculosis);
  • Infection that lasts a long time;
  • A cancerous tumor;
  • Yuflyma can cause hepatitis B to return or worsen);
  • diabetes;
  • Failure of the heart;
  • The presence of numbness or tingling or the presence of a nerve-muscle disorder such as multiple sclerosis or Guillain-Barre syndrome;
  • Latex allergy;
  • If you are scheduled for major surgery,
  • Any vaccine you have recently received or are scheduled to receive.

Yuflyma Uses

The FDA has approved Yuflyma for the following uses:

  • When used alone, with methotrexate, or with other medications, it is effective against moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults.

  • It is used alone or in combination with methotrexate for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (moderate to severe polyarticular) in children over the age of two.

  • It can be used alone or in conjunction with other medicines to treat psoriatic arthritis in adults.

  • Ankylosing spondylitis in adults.

  • Adults with hidradenitis suppurativa (moderate to severe).

  • Adults and children 6 years and older with moderate to severe Crohn’s disease.

  • Adults with ulcerative colitis (moderate to severe). People who stop responding to or cannot tolerate TNF-blocker medicines may benefit from Yuflyma products.

  • Adults suffering from plaque psoriasis who have the condition in many areas of their body may benefit from injections or pills (systemic therapy) and phototherapy (treatment using ultraviolet light alone or with pills).
