Yuflyma Labeled Warning

Yuflyma Labeled Warning

Yuflyma carries the risk of serious infections, including tuberculosis, bacterial sepsis, invasive fungal infections, and infections due to other opportunistic pathogens. Patients should be tested for latent TB before and during therapy. The medication may also elevate the risk of malignancies, such as lymphoma and other cancers, particularly in pediatric patients.

Yuflyma Precautions

Yuflyma Precautions

Your immune system is affected by Yuflyma. Infections may be more likely to occur, even serious or fatal ones.

In case of fever, chills, aches, tiredness, cough, sores, diarrhea, or burning when you urinate, tell your doctor before or during treatment with Yuflyma.

Before starting Yuflyma, you should be tested for tuberculosis (TB), and your doctor should closely monitor you during treatment for signs and symptoms of TB.

TNF-blockers may increase the risk of developing cancer in children and adults.

In case of fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, tiredness, cough, bloody mucus, skin sores, diarrhea, or constantly tired, tell your doctor before using Yuflyma.

Please let your doctor know where you live and if you have traveled recently or will travel shortly. Some areas of the world are prone to infections.

In rare cases, Yuflyma can cause liver, spleen, and bone marrow lymphomas (cancers). Mostly, young men and teenagers with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis are affected. Lymphoma may be more prevalent in people with inflammatory autoimmune disorders. It would help if you discussed your own risk with your doctor.

FDA-approved conditions are the only ones for which Yuflyma should be used in specific age groups. Before starting Yuflyma treatment, children should be up-to-date on all childhood immunizations.

You should tell your doctor if you have ever experienced any of the following:

  • You have tuberculosis (or anyone in your household has tuberculosis);
  • Infection that lasts a long time;
  • A cancerous tumor;
  • Yuflyma can cause hepatitis B to return or worsen);
  • diabetes;
  • Failure of the heart;
  • The presence of numbness or tingling or the presence of a nerve-muscle disorder such as multiple sclerosis or Guillain-Barre syndrome;
  • Latex allergy;
  • If you are scheduled for major surgery,
  • Any vaccine you have recently received or are scheduled to receive.
