Can Humira® be taken for an Indefinite Period?

As a maintenance (long-term) drug, adalimumab is prescribed to patients with chronic inflammatory diseases (it can also be used to treat  Hidradenitis Suppurativa). Your doctor will assess you regularly to determine whether you should continue taking Humira®. Depending on the severity of your anti-inflammatory response, the duration of your treatment may differ from others. 

How Long can Humira® be Kept if it is Taken out of the Refrigerator?

Take into account the possibility of traveling or being unable to keep adalimumab in the refrigerator. In that case, it can be stored at room temperature for up to 14 days if the temperature does not exceed 77 degrees F (25 degrees C).

If you haven’t used your Humira® within 14 days and it’s been kept at room temperature, throw it away. Contact your pharmacist for more information.

You must use your Humira® Pen or pre-filled syringe within 14 days after it has reached room temperature, even if you put it back in the refrigerator.

Protect Humira® from light at all times and store it in its original carton until you are ready to take it.

I Missed my Injection of Humira®; What Should I do?

After you have used the medicine, return to your usual injection schedule. There is no need to administer extra medication.
